Deep fried coke and getting high...

Getting high, that's right-on a ferris wheel.

Looks like the Texas State Fair is in action for the next month. My manager/pal Holly says that you can see the entirety of the Dallas skyline from atop the ferris wheel. I'm going to have to hit that up, as well as sampling some of the ridiculous fried food from the fair's infamous annual contest. I'm sure there will be plenty of "loltexas" (my somewhat new portmanteau to describe the more humorous and/or ironic aspects of my new life in North Texas) which will have to be documented.

In other news, Susie from Sales festooned the office with luau decor today to celebrate Holly's 33rd birthday. I am restraining myself from making a remark such as "this is the first time I came to work and got lei'd at the door." Heh heh. Holly is running a little late today because she is taking her little brother back to the airport after he came to visit... oh where, oh where have I heard the story of a boy just shy of 20 moving to San Francisco to pursue his dreams with less-than-cush living arrangements? Oh, and Holly's little sister is coming to town and they're going to the State Fair, too. She didn't go to college right after high school to figure out what she really wanted to do- and now she's in culinary school in Maine. Hrrrrmmmm... details like these reminded me of a couple of stories from my life's adventures, and for a while there was an innacurate story going around the office about me once dating "a midget"... until I cleared up the fact that he was a very handsome, smart, gastrominati, hipster-glasses wearing, 6'2" midget.

Jeethus Chrithst... I get more and more convinced everyday that there is some credence to the idea that as humankind, we are all one, each one a piece joined in this ultimate crazy collective called reality. I mean, goodness gracious, it's like everyone I meet is a remix of everyone I've ever met before. I'm still not sure if I'm more jaded or hopeful about this fact, kind of like I'm still not sure about my thoughts on deep fried coke (aside from the colorful name). Hey, like a lot of things, you just gotta try before you die.
